Making Blood Orange Juice

The tree has had another month or month and a half to ripen since the last time we squeezed a lot of juice.  The rest of the orchard was harvested just after Christas.  It took a crew 6 days and they took away 6 truck loads of oranges.  The tree in "our backyard" was left for us to enjoy.  The kids picked 48 oranges (there are still lots!!) and the squeezing commenced.  We got a lot more juice out of the riper oranges.  And it was definitely sweeter.  We had enough for breakfast and filled the pitcher up again for later.  The color was much darker than before.  Some of the oranges have red veins running through the pulp when cut.  We think it's a bood orange tree.  We'll pick again the day before we leave.
