Picture Catch Up

I finally synced up my iPhone to get a bunch of pictures off.  Here goes the catch up.  I keep forgetting to mention that Isaac has braces.  Or maybe I did mention it, but haven't shown a picture.  This one is pretty bad, but it's all I have currently.  He only has them on the bottom and you can't even see them unless he purposefully shows you.  Last night, the room was quiet as we were all lounging around reading and all of a sudden Isaac yells out, "I HATE BRACES!" making us all jump.  With them only on the bottom and needing them for less than a year, he doesn't really know how lucky he is.  

These are some pictures from our anniversary dinner at the Burj al Arab.  First is a lobster mousse.  The only thing we didn't love.  There is chopped mango and a little scoop of caviar and the thinnest slice of rye you ever saw.  We just didn't like lobster disguised as pudding.

Fancy rolls.  There was a much larger selection, but this is what I chose.  The front is tomato basil bread.  The back is simple white bread, but the sculpture intrigued me.  Like the plate? Oh and you can see butter selections in the distance as well.

Our main dish included lobster, sea bass, steak, shrimp and brisket.

To refresh our palates after dinner. An infusion of grapefruit and lemon ice. Look at the adorable tiny spoon.  I placed the normal spoon next to it to show the scale.

My dessert was a perfect sphere until the waiter poured molten hot chocolate sauce over it and it melted.  Yes, those are bits of gold leaf on the halved raspberries resting on circles of gelatin.

And with the boxed cake, they brought out fancy chocolates.  We put them in the box with the cake. 

The girls both got some make-up awhile back for birthdays or Christmas.  They haven't touched it for ages, until recently.  They have been having fun with it at night before it's time for showers.  And yes, you have a decent view of their well loved room too.

It's been awhile since we stopped for a Pappa Rotti Roll. They have expanded to allow for double the ovens, more seating and a separate take away counter.  

Makenna saw this and thought it was so funny.  We should send it in to one of those "FAIL" website collections.

Caught in a glamour mode.  She told me her sectioned ponytail was inspired by the Japanese chef on Iron Chef.

Matt asked the girls to tell him a secret.  Jessica told him one of her animals was adopted.  It belonged to Isaac first.  Makenna said she's starting to like tomatoes.
