Isaac was only allowed to take 10kg on the rafts each day. He was allowed 20kg on the plane, but had to be able to par down his stuff for the 3 days on the river, including sleeping bag, pad, warm clothes for night, etc. Extra stuff could be left at the hotel. The girls had great fun helping him pack and weigh his stuff, and get packed up themselves. Jess is the only one who fits very well anymore.
Matt and I went out Wednesday night with strict instructions for Isaac to go to bed early since he had to get up at 3:30. We we got home the house was dark. (The girls were still awake in their room listening to Harry Potter.) We found two very sweet notes on top of his bag. I love my kids.
