On 1.1.2015, Jessica turned 11. And that's pretty cool. The sad thing is her age no longer matches the number represented by her first name's letter--J is the 10th letter in the alphabet. She started her birthday with a bang, as usual at midnight, but her family party didn't start till late in the day on January 1. She had requested breakfast burritos made with crepes, scrambled eggs and bacon. I put some fruit on the table too that was left over from the fruit pizza the night before.
After making the batter for her cake and putting it in the oven, she headed outside with Isaac and Makenna. It was a beautiful day and she was enjoying it! The kids playing in the late afternoon sun.
This is a bad picture, but the only one I have. Yes, she added ketchup. And yes, she is wearing green eyeshadow.

They had to take a break to poke holes in her hot cake and pour carmel and sweetened condensed milk over the top. Then they changed into swimsuits and head back outside. This time they filled balloons with water and played catch. They had me film some with the slow motion setting on my phone. Pretty hilarious. Maybe we will add them later?
Come in for showers and it's time to make dinner. She requested Isaac's steak, mashed potatoes and peas. The steak is from a youtube video the kids watched on how to make the perfect steak with Gordon Ramsey and it's very good. It involves garlic, rosemary and thyme. Isaac was obviously in charge of the meat, and I took care of the potatoes and peas. Jess was the official taster.
The best bites have all three items together on the fork.
Present time with "heavy, heavy hangover thy poor head".
Eye shadow brushes, a visor, a new backpack and peppermint tic tacs!
Thanks grandma Terry!
She made one that night before going to bed.
A couple days later, another birthday box came, this time from Grandma Chris. Socks!! So many colors. Thanks for the new fabulous outfit. She especially loves the pants. They feel like stretch pants to wear, but look more presentable than most of hers.
