The competitive swim season is just about over. The kids had their last meet Saturday morning (we were there for a little over 5 hours!) So now we just have the end of season party at the pool. This is what Jess has been looking forward to. She's a little too short for the slide at the Y, so she can't wait to go on Silver Mesa's. Last time we were there to play, she spent over an hour solid going up and down. No idea how many times. She has been counting down to Monday for a couple of weeks. It was very disappointing that last Monday was not THE Monday. She is an excellent counter, but it was like she went to bed each night hoping to sleep away 4 or 5 days and magically wake up to the one she wanted.

There will still be plenty of days to swim for fun still, I just hope Isaac hasn't completely forgotten how. Last Thursday the whole family went to the Y after lunch. Mom and dad wanted to swim some laps and Isaac joined us while the girls played mermaids and otters. Afterward, he had swim team and swam many more laps. Then we ate a quick dinner before I took him to pack meeting--the summer swim party one--and the whole time he's calling for me to watch his dives, practicing for the Saturday meet. Both kids have loved swim team and we'll definitely do it again next year.

Makenna's Thursday turned out much differently. Matt talked to our friend, Dr. Reese, about the wart on her hand and they made an appointment for that afternoon. So after the Y, Matt took Makenna (and Jess wanted to watch) to his office. She got for shots around the wart and didn't fuss or move or even say anything. Lee (Dr.) said it was the best shot response he has ever had. She's tough for the shots, but it must have affected her. "I feel funny. I think I'm going to throw up," she said rather matter of fact. She didn't but did lay down at that point. She got four stiches to close up the incision. The stiches come out in two more days. Matt took a couple pictures of the procedure. Rather a lot of blood. I don't like looking at them. As if that wasn't big enough for one day, that evening she pulled out a tooth. More blood.

We brought Jessica's bike along to the swim meet so she could have something to do. Bike riding is one of her favorite things, but it's too hot for most of the day right now. Early Saturday turned out to be a great time for it.
