Cooking School

Isaac is becoming quite the baker. About once a week or so, he gets a cookie bug in his system. It's actually great motivation to focus on school and get done early. Makenna is always a willing helper and Jess usually helps enough to get beater licking privileges. He'll pull down the recipe box and choose something that sounds good. He wanted to make something with coconut, but we didn't have any on hand. So today they tried Oatmeal Chocolate chip with zero help from me until it was time to take them out of the oven. (It's still hard to reach in and grab the pan while standing on a stool.) They turned out great. They are walking a big plate of them over to a neighbor's house right now. The dad is deployed for another few months. I'm glad they've learned that it's fun to cook AND to share your cooking too.
