Our downstairs British neighbor told us about her kids' favorite park. We set out to find it on the doldrum day after visitors left. We took a very circuitous route, but found it in the end. We walked through a crazy seriously dangerous off road/mountain bike course in the woods. It involved wooden crates and fallen tress and steep embankments. The base commander totally would have shut it down at Ramstein. We saw it in use on later trips to the park.
The park quickly became our favorite too. On first sight, it looked thrown together with stuff washed up on the shore. I mentioned that and the name stuck--among us--but after closer inspection, it needed a more spiky name. There was great climbing potential, but the kids' favorite thing was the steep tunnel slide. Makenna was the lucky one wearing soccer shorts the first day. She would shoot out the bottom. Jess and Isaac took turns sitting on his sports jacket to achieve similar speed. I'm trying to upload a video at the bottom. It's taken with my phone, so it's not great, but hey, better than nothin'.

Neat statue we passed on the initial park hunt. It looks like the statue is trying to climb out of the rock.
Driftwood park looks really cool! It would never pass in America.
