Jessica has had a few friends move away the past few months. While there are lots of girls that she enjoys at gymnastics, none have crossed over into "play date" material. For her birthday, she just wanted to just hang out with her friend Raven instead of trying to host a whole party of girls she doesn't know well outside of gymnastics. They started out similarly to last year, but with just the two of them. They climbed the wall at Mirdif and went on the SkyTrail. They had their own salads and then split a pizza. Then we headed home by way of Spinney's where they chose their favorite face masks and did their own spa day at home. They soaked their feet, painted nails, put goop on their faces and later washed it off. They had a grand time.
BUT....much later while watching a movie, Raven urgently calls to me saying Jess is crying. They were bouncing on the couch, Jess hit her mouth with her own knee and managed to knock one of her fake 1/2 teeth out. She wasn't really in pain, but upset that she now has a jagged sharp spot in her mouth and she will have to spend hours going to the dentist, again.
After I drove Raven home, Jess started getting a bunch of pictures from her hoping for a quick fix. It was a real bummer end to a fun day.

This is Jess a hour or so later after she calmed down and could laugh at herself a little.
At the dentist, waiting to go in. I think she looks pretty with her "Katniss braid".
All better! Until next time.
Silver lining? Of course. Check out this purely awesome picture Matt took.
