Our homeschool group has just finished putting on the International Day. It's been an annual event for at least two years, but we did not end up attending last year because our villa paperwork was finally finalized and we spent that weekend moving out of the hotel. I had started prepping for it and had already printed out pictures from Sicily to use, so even though Sicily is much more distant now, that's where we chose to represent.
There were about 20 stations representing many countries and a few US states. A few families, like us, were sharing about places they had lived but were not native to. More often, families shared their native country despite not having lived there for several years. A few families grouped together to present; like the groups from South Africa or Singapore. Every table had a food (or many) to share. There were also handouts, interesting facts, beautiful traditional clothes, a traditional dance, a few national anthems, and lots of great travel advice.

It was a really great experience. There were just so many tables that it got a bit long towards the end. But the diversity is one of the great things about living here.
