Driving on 311 on date night after a somewhat rainy day. The big sign over the freeway read "REDUCE SPEED WATCH FOR PONDS". Ha ha! Jess loves to watch for ponds and shout encouragement to drive right through them! That's the second weather related warning we have seen in 2 years. The first was about a sand storm.
Drainage is a problem here, but only very rarely. There aren't big run off containment areas like Vegas has because there is no danger of flash floods without any mountain, hills or slight inclines around the city. The next day in the paper it reported that the police had over 1500 accident reports to write--mostly fender benders due to people being clueless in the wet.
