Isaac is 16!!?

Wow. He has grown up so much. Turning 16 was a major milestone age for me and most American kids.  But Isaac wasn't too fussed about it.  Though he did take full advantage of picking all his favorite foods.  It's hard to keep a swimmer well fed.

The girls planned the ultimate gift for him.  Three months ago they started reading The Lord of the Rings in secret.  He has been wanting to watch the movies with them and share his love of the music and middle earth for ages.  They were sneaky and kept their surprise.  At breakfast, they presented him with movie tickets and popcorn.  They had a 6 hour movie marathon that evening.

First round of "Happy Birthday" with Makenna playing it on her guitar.

Isaac and Matt joke around more and more, they enjoy ribbing each other.

Fudgey Brownies with built in chocolate sauce and ice cream.  But how do you stick candles it that?  The girls helped by making cupcakes too.

He is acting out the words to Happy Birthday to ME!

Oh yeah.  Plans to use this up--hopefully not in one go--this summer!

The girls found this swimmer fabric and we made a "car pillow" for him.

A fake drivers license, with a promise to go practice in the desert.  Bonus points if anyone can figure out the significance of his license number.  It's one of Isaac's favorites.

The next morning we used some of his new kitchen tools to make gourmet sausage egg sandwiches.

Good grief, he is so strong!

Ummm, this is where we took him for his big birthday lunch.  It's called The Counter and you custom  design your dream burger with choices for bun, cheeses, LOADS of toppings, sauces, and patty sizes.  He loved it and so did the rest of us, but I don't have pictures because once you pick up your food, you don't really want to put it down till you finish.....

He had several packages trickle in over the next few weeks--components for his raspberry pi and Arduino.  He is really enjoying programming and building.  Matt has even brought home a sauntering iron for him to use a bit.
