Matt is good at finding fun ideas on the community board at the grocery store. Last week he saw a flier for an exotic car show in Festival City. It started Thursday and was open to the public the afternoon after a Homeschool field trip. Perfect. So after we finished up at the Bastikiya, we drove over to check it out.
Now Matt and I have been to many car shows. Mostly they were smaller local ones, but we went to two huge ones in Germany and Vegas. This wasn't huge, but the thing that set it apart was the absence of normal cars. In the two big past shows, nearly all car companies were represented showing past, present and future offerings. The exotics were there, but they were hugely outnumbered by Toyota, Ford, Hyundai etc. The most average offerings to be found here were the Porsches and a group of American muscle cars like the Dodge Viper, Camero, Mustang and to Jess's joy, a Corvette. Instead there were rows of Austin Martins, Ferraris, Lamborghini Rolls Royces, etc. Many were opened up to allow people to not only look in, but get in. Maybe it's partly because of this outing that Isaac and I had the following exchange later the next week.
We were getting gas and a red Ferrari pulled up at the next pump. I pointed it out to Isaac and asked if he wanted to snap a picture. "Nah. You see 'em all the time."
Before leaving we took a water break on a couple electric bumper boats. It was boys vs. girls.
