Christmas presents started a little early for us, thank goodness for Ben. We were making our traditional grilled salsa and steak on Christmas Eve, but didn't have any Season All for the steak since a camping backpack accident with our old big bottle. I requested it from Ben and was hopeful as we opened his gift a few hours early. HOORAY! Not only did we get the secret ingredient, the kids found water bottles to fight over, marshmallows and acini de pepe (mixed together ha ha) and Hidden Valley Ranch mix. It was a treasure trove of hard to find items. Jessica dumped the pasta marshmallow mix into a big bowl and used chopsticks to pick out the marshmallows.
Christmas morning the kids let us sleep in more than ever before. Isaac was tired of waiting and put on clothes and contacts. It was weird seeing him look through his stocking with jeans and combed hair. His highlights include a new tripod, pull-up bar (used by the girls almost as much), running shoes and a new bike helmet.
A couple days later a second box came from Colorado Springs. It's nice when the mail forces you to linger longer over the holidays!

A new journal
She found an insulated lunch bag with space for a sandwich, yogurt, drink and flower vase.
Special gymnastics socks
Those are balloons.
The new swim shirt is too tight.
Pretty new hair accessory.
Underwear from Santa??
A stamper!
BatJess earrings
Oh yeah. This was another big hit!
It's a coin purse with One Direction on it. It got a big smile! Maybe it will be saved for a white elephant party next year.
The swim shirt fits George better.
Matt's shirt says "I am the Stig."
Isaac got the girls their own big Calvin and Hobbes books and wrote inside the covers. The most time has been spent with these.
Then Jess found her favorite present.
A box of 20 assorted ducks
Makenna also got a new bike helmet. She is going to need a new bike to go with it. Hers is breaking past the point of sensible repairs. The gears are literally breaking off. She has been riding mine more.
Seahawks hat.
Thanks for the dress Grandma Chris
Makenna trying out her new ipad mini. (Jess has hers behind the couch.)
Isaac is in agony trying to decide what to do with his cash.....
I was trying to catch Matt laughing, I forget about what.
A couple days later a second box came from Colorado Springs. It's nice when the mail forces you to linger longer over the holidays!
This is what Isaac did for the first 30 minutes after initially opening the box until the girls discovered the dried fruit and tried to steal it.
Makenna said, "Grandma really loves me!!" She is thrilled with her knitting needles and fancy case.
And Jess got a purple version of one of the Ben water bottled that was most hotly contended.
She exclaimed over it so enthusiastically that Isaac said, "you make me want to touch it too."

Touch what?
