Due to several factors out of our control, Isaac's Board of Review got pushed back and back again. Over the Winter Break, we had been switched from a direct service troop into the Transatlantic Council--back to where he started in cub scouts. They are still catching up on paperwork and couldn't straighten out Isaac's files for longer than expected. Then they postponed a few more days so the incoming trop committee head could be there and see how eagle BOR's are conducted since it will be one of his new duties. Well, in the end, they scheduled it couple hours before the court of honor. Grrr. After all our attempts to not be one of "those families" we kind of were. sigh. At least we weren't pushing merit badges last minute and making dozens of obnoxious phone calls. We just waited.
I helped with Jessica's hair before leaving. I think the girls were more excited for the evening than Isaac. I was so excited about Jessica's hair. It was my best "do" ever! She didn't like the height though. She was sure it looked goofy, but the countless compliments she got later helped change her mind. And it still held well while doing back handsprings in the grass outside with Aleaha during the pot luck.

New Eagles
Neil and Isaac. Neil is the one who started the troop for special needs boys and ran it for a year for his project. Isaac is one of 4 boys chosen to keep it going next year as junior scoutmasters. There is adult leadership, but our boys do most of the planning and work with the special needs boys. Neil is going off to college in New York this summer. He will be missed.
