First Incline of 2015

I think Isaac was going on a long bike ride with David?  Whatever the reason, this turned into a girls only trip.  Grandma, Jess, Makenna and me.  The weather was perfect, maybe a little on the warm side.  It sure has gotten popular.  We didn't get there at the crack of dawn and so couldn't find parking up by the start.  I ended up dropping them off to start, parking down on the main street and hustling uphill for a mile before even starring.  I eventually caught up with Jess and grandma.  Makenna had already gone ahead, though we could see her in the distance.  This was Jessica's first time finishing, having been evacuated during a flash flood last time.  It was harder than she thought, but now holds it as a badge of honor.

I think this is at the false summit  So close!

Now you can see the real end.

Look who we found waiting for us at the top!

Little friend.

Oh yeah, she's feeling strong!

No biggie, she's done it a couple times before!

So grandma switched to the Barr Trail at the 1/2 mark.  The incline is not her cup of tea.  She can hike all day on the Barr Trail--and was more than a mile along the way when we quickly met up with her on our way back down.  So she actually hiked more miles than us that day, just not so steep.

This guy.  He hikes, bikes and rides his motorcycle with his parrot on his shoulder.

A well deserved rest at the bottom.

Now an addition of a few choice pictures taken by Jess with her phone.
