Star Wars

We have been having Star Wars family night once a week for the last 5 weeks.  The movies are all but new to the girls.  They LOVE them.   It's been a long time since we have had them on.  Matt found out that there is going to be a big live symphony playing highlights from the movies with screen shots and got tickets for us towards the end of May.  So we have been educating the kids to get them ready to appreciate it.  The girls like identifying different characters' musical themes--like Anakin's is changing to Darth Vader at times.

We have been watching them in the order they were released rather than chronologically.  The light sabers came out after episode V and again after VI.  After Episode I, Matt brought out the bin of action figures.  Isaac spent hours and hours with them when he was 3-4.  He even added some new ones that he got for Christmas.  Last week, the big tough 11 year old spent over an hour digging through the box, matching up weapons and making sound effects.  The girls loved them too.  When I made a pre-bedtime snack, they each brought a few guys over with them and continued playing until bedtime.

They are a favorite morning toy now, but I have to physically remove the bin when it's time to start school.  They are too tempting.

  1. They are having a blast! How fun! I love to dig out old toys every once in a while, it buys me a couple hours too =)
