Birthday season is officially here, but something is definitely lacking, mainly cake. Without cake pans or an oven big enough to cook them in (we still just have our toaster oven), I didn't even attempt to make Matt's traditional cake. We have been saving the last Lehi Roller Mills Blueberry muffin mix to make for him instead. It's not at all the same, but hopefully it was still a good thought. We can cook six muffins at a time. Blueberry muffins on Matt's birthday go back a LONG time for us. However, when we got home from church there was a fancy chocolate mousse cake with "Happy Birthday" written on the top. I guess they really look at those passports. And too bad they didn't ask to see the kids'. So Matt had cake and muffins and three hyper kids waiting for him when he got home from work late Friday night. We couldn't find spools of ribbon, so the girls crocheted their own ties to adorn his gifts.
Hmmm, I think one of the white chocolate curls from the cake
is already missing. . . .
Jess helped blow the muffin candles.
Isaac played cameraman for the rest.
"Thanks for the shirts, mom and dad!"
