Charlottenburg Palace, Christmas Markts

Ah, breakfast.  Having the kids stuff themselves each morning has been so helpful.  Being able to eat onsite and then go back up to brush teeth and bundle before heading out for the day is definitely preferable to grabbing breakfast out.  Jess really loves her new hat.

Another bear.

We rode the U-Bahn out to Charlottenburg Palace.  It's not an old medieval castle, to the kids' general disappointment, but a more modern royal residence.  Some was destroyed during the war and it's interesting to see the before and after pictures showing renovations.

Audio Tour.....  If we ever come back here in the summer, I want to spend a day biking/running around the palace gardens.  They are gorgeous and immense!

New treat we discovered.  Yum!  Weihnachtsmarkt food is all about tasty and comfort.  We grabbed lunch at the Markt right outside the palace gate.

On the way back to our neck of the woods, we popped up at Potsdamer Platz and found another big Markt.  I think we picked up a couple ornaments here?

We went into this mall to find a bathroom.  The decorations were lavishly beautiful.

Warm up at sunset for a bit at the hotel before heading back out for dinner.  The sun sets around 3:30-4.

One more Markt.  This one was more about rides and a big midway section.  We had no interest in getting colder or puking, so we didn't stay long.  It's redeeming feature, 1/2 meter wursts.
