The kids spent many hours with me furniture shopping for Matt for a special Christmas surprise. He has been hating our old couch for quite a while and with all the work he has been doing, we decided to upgrade for him. We were like Goldilocks in different stores trying out the comfort levels of dozens of couches. We finally settled on one, plus a couple chairs. I haggled them down in price and we arranged for delivery on the 23rd. The kids had made a big fort behind the old couch planning on getting Matt used to the sight so when the new one came, they could drape it in blankets and he wouldn't notice. Then Christmas morning they could pull it all back and yell surprise!!
Delivery ended up being postponed until the 24th and was just as well because there was no way we could hide it plus two big chairs and an ottoman. The kids had taken Matt out during the hour delivery window, and when they came home we decided to just blindfold him and let him have his surprise a day early. The kids were SO excited to show him and move things around and set up pillows and blankets. It was nice to move the old and set up the new for Christmas morning. Luckily, he was very happy with the choices as well.
