Turkey Pictures: Canyon

Day 3 October 5
Up for breakfast at 8
DRY BAGS!!!! "WHAT!?!?!?!" What do we put in them? How do we carry them. When are we getting wet? Where do we carry water?  How do I take pictures? We canyonned in and out of water. Stopped for lunch. Then went to a cliff and had to jump in backwards. Our climbing really tested our teamwork and spotting skills.
Continued canyonning and climbing to the top of the mountain to the skinny bridge. Amazing views. Karen was saying how it was her most favorite day so far. The kind of day that you want to remember forever and wished you had loads of photos to see it all. But unfortunately it's also the kind of day when you're so busy having fun that you can't take pictures. On our walk back we stopped by the old bridge and a lot of us jumped into the ice cold water from about 25ft?
Back to camp.  Boys played tag again. It seems to be a favorite.
Played cards. Every evening we go through the group and mention something that we really liked about the day. Everyone has such positive things to say each time. Mustafa has been a great leader for our children. He teaches them things without them even realizing it. He makes someone a leader and deputy leader every day so each of the kids has s chance at practicing their leadership and responsibility.
That's Makenna's water bottle outside our tent.  That rooster would occasionally peck on our walls.  Someone took this shot slightly predawn.
Good Morning!

Prepping to go.  Swimsuits and quick drying clothes.  My toe shoes were great.

Outfitted with helmets and life jackets.

Oh, the water was cold.

Sandwich lunch

Aleaha and Jess, always together.

A few groups took turns warming up in the orange mushroom.

This was a deep spot.  Nearly everyone went under, then quickly swam to more shallow water.

That's Isaac jumping.

Then we got back and showered.
The kids spent the evening normally playing variations of tag and cards.
