Day 4 October 6
Up for breakfast. They served the yummy fried bread that everyone loves. Late start to rafting around 10:30. Got to the start of the river. Had a small lesson in paddling. Rafting was a lot of fun. We went down the river and splashed each other. We saw lots of Russians along the river. Took a break and some went swimming. Finished rafting then back to camp for a late lunch and playing and swimming around camp. Lunch was interrupted. By Isaac losing his go pros. Makenna and Zane found them in the helmet bag. The kids played daredevil. Mustafa made the kids jump into the icy lake and have races. Dinner was really nice. The boys waited until everyone was seated to start eating. After dinner the boys started a fire with a flint and steel and some napkins. Then we told brain teasers by the fire.

Makenna trying to ignore the sunrise and rooster.
That's Stephanie. I would always wash my face and brush my teeth in the morning there too rather than hike up to the bathroom.
Boys ready for the pre-trip talk.
A few people warming up after being drenched from boat splash attacks.
We got back in time for a late lunch. While it was being prepped, Mustafa challenged the kids to a series of tests.
Trying to decide if she really is willing to go under.....
Isaac sealed his spot as fastest swimmer.
Jess and Aleaha were tough and jumped in a few times, but didn't compete with the boys--mainly because they were eager to immediately climb out.
Makenna cheered them on from a safe distance.
After the long race, Isaac was through. He made a dash for the showers and tried to warm up with the solar heated water.
Later: fed, dry and warm.
Glenda and me.
Their happy shadows. A couple days later, this is where Jess would jump over a bag, trip and bang up her knee.
Makenna loves these little chicks.
This little boy looks JUST like his dad. He constantly shadowed him doing jobs around the place. He was a cute little guy.
The bathrooms. Boys/Girls each had a couple sinks, 3 toilets and one shower, for which we were very grateful!
