Jessica's 7th Birthday

It's official, my baby is seven.  She is thrilled and her big sister is pretty happy too.  They love to share clothes and share their room.  Built in best buddies.

Jessica loves her birthday sign.  That's something that we will definitely take with us where ever we go.

Brian and Hilary came over for New Year's Eve to have some treats and an evening of games.  They helped sing to Jess at midnight, then came back again the next evening.

Isaac wanted to talk guns with Brian.

Birthday breakfast: pancakes with fruit and LOTS of whipped cream.

The CAKE!  Matt found directions on YouTube and together we made a pretty fancy cake.  Jess loved it.  Homemade frosting, fondant and funfetti cake. Matt was in change of the field markings and dying the black pentagons.  His hands were purple for a couple days.

Jess wanted to add the players herself.

I love my cake!

Jess really wanted to do a pedicure trip like we did for Makenna's birthday, but all the salons around us were closed on New Year's.  So we improvised and had a mommy salon complete with warm water bath, foot scrub, lotion and choice of polish.  The girls even got to watch a movie while relaxing.  Makenna got a turn too.  We set up a second station, but it's not pictured.

She was nervous about the candles at first and stood safely back.

She tried blowing them out, but they just wouldn't stop sparking!

Jess loves legos.

She really wanted to open this new ball.

She REALLY wanted to open it, but that was strong packaging!

Thanks for the monkey bag, grandma!

After cake, Brian and Hilary fell dangerously ill.  Good thing Jess was handy to take care of them with ice packs bandages, pillows, blankets and tourniquets.

She had a fun day and we had fun celebrating with her.
