Visitors and Moving

We were very lucky to host Matt's parents, my two sisters and Emily's kids for a couple days.  They mainly came to see Isaac's play, but we put everyone to work helping with the move as well.  Don and Chris drove Isaac to his carpool, packed up lots of boxes and emptied out our Harry Potter cupboard.  Then they also supervised the movers.  Emily and Kim were in charge of the remaining 7 kids.  They took them to the park for a couple hours then came back to do school with 4 1/2 of them.  (Lucy does some of her own school.)  We all worked Thursday.  Friday we did a bit more school before heading off to the first performance.

Emily drove away Saturday morning with a car full of kids and a whole lot of stuff we pushed off on them.  Don and Chris were able to come to church with us Sunday and hear Isaac's talk--very excellent--before leaving that afternoon with their car full of fall clothes we will want in Germany.  We are all so grateful for their willingness to drive down and see us.

Grandpa having a stare down with the birds, trying to shut them in their cage.

Big group for dinner with no more real tables.  Enchiladas for dinner.  We used up two cans of enchilada sauce, lots of cheese, all my tortillas, a can of beans and some rice! Oh, and Jess made kool-aid, one more packet gone.  Pictured in the background is our futon--playing double duty as our couch by day and Kim's bed by night.

Celebratory ice cream cake for Isaac, Dromio of Ephesus.  This is the little table,

the girl table (i'm not pictured),

and the boy table. Emily was an honorary boy, sharing with Tommy.

After the movers took away the dressers, boxes and tables from the room, the kids had ample room to run and play.

Their favorite activity was taking turns riding and pulling the sled.  I think Kim took some videos of the fast and crazy rides.

Isaac pulled Makenna and Tommy nice and slow.
