Makenna's birthday ended up being spread out over a few days. These are a few highlights from March 17th. After breakfast, she opened a couple presents. They were her two requests, no surprises, but have you ever seen anyone so excited over smelly lotion and hoop earrings?
She had to go try them on right away.
Grandma Chris and Grandpa Don gave her a cute new dress.
A little later in the day, we went for her annual mani/pedi. She has been looking forward to this since last year. Jess too. We tried to do our own at home, but I can't touch their nail art.
Her toes are bright blue.
She got to shop for a few accessories for herself while picking out a present for Aspen, her birthday buddy. (See the following post.)
She wanted to make her own cake, but let Jess help. My only task was spraying the pans.
She chose lemon cake.
It tasted great!
