Our dear friends had a death in their family that required the parents to go up to Idaho for a funeral. While deaths are not happy events, my kids were happy to play host and bend our "no sleepover policy". We have always allowed late-overs, hosting many ourselves, but sleepovers only happen in extreme cases when it's more service than party (though the kids don't see it that way! They think they are the ones getting the treat.)
We set up the futon in the girls' room and had 4 cuties in there. They had a bit of trouble settling down, but slept well through the night.
Neither Isaac nor Cameron would take Isaac's bed, so they both had sleeping bags on his floor. Weirdos. Not that they slept much anyways. After a small "don't stay up too late because you will suffer when you have to get up early" speech, I stayed out of their way. They played the PS3 until 11-ish and I was worried about the morning, but they were up having breakfast BEFORE my alarm went off to go wake them up.
They even had time to play another round before it was time for Cameron to catch the bus.

The girls had a bit of a lazy morning in jammies till the last possible moment. Ellie stayed home from her school and did school with Jess and went with us to club days. Ellie went to the activities Jess has been doing--cup stacking, tumbling and soap carving. Amberlee stayed with me while I taught dominoes and we joined Makenna for square dancing.

We made a Costco run and lunch stop on the way home. We did a fair amount of school and had a whole lot of play time. After a late dinner, we took the Reese kids to their house for bed because their parents would be coming back in a couple more hours.
