Makenna's Birthday Finale

When Matt came back for the weekend, he wanted to take Makenna to her choice of an Iron Chef restaurant for her birthday dinner.  Jessica had a friend's birthday party Saturday, so I had made reservations for 4 of us.  Isaac had gone on a campout Friday night.  He got back around noon after an extremely windy night.  (I had gone on a long run early that morning and kept thinking, "This is hard, but man, I feel bad for those boys.")  He took a shower, started a load of smokey wash and then laid down for a rest before dinner.  When Matt went in to wake him up to get dressed, he was still completely out of it.  I checked on him and he was incoherent.  We left him home.  He slept from 3 pm till the next morning.  Then he fell asleep in church.

So it ended up being the 3 of us.  Makenna had picked Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill.  When we told our waiter that it was her birthday and we had picked the location because she was a big Iron Chef fan, he just turned and pointed behind him with a big smile on his face.   There, in the kitchen, was the man himself.  We got so lucky that he was there that night.  Our kind waiter took us over so Makenna could meet Bobby and take a picture.  Pretty Dang Cool.  I just wish I had brought a real camera.

He was very nice.  Makenna was a little star struck/tongue tied.

Everything was divine.
